What is Stripe?
Stripe is a technology company. Its software allows individuals and businesses to receive payments over the Internet. Stripe provides the technical, fraud prevention, and banking infrastructure required to operate on-line payment systems.
How to start
The first step is to connect your Stripe account with Big Dash. If you don't have a Stripe account, you can create one through our admin dashboard. We currently support Credit Card, SEPA direct debit and paying by invoice. Before you can use SEPA direct debit, you have to activate it on Stripe. If you need help, don't hesitate to contact us. Click here to get started with your Stripe account, or connect an existing account.
When using our Stripe integration it is possible that you will have to deal with payment disputes. A dispute (also known as a chargeback) occurs when a cardholder questions your payment with their card issuer. The issuer creates a formal dispute which immediately reverses the payment.
The best way to manage them is to prevent them from happening at all. Clear and frequent contact with your end-users can help prevent many of the reasons for disputes. By responding to issues and processing refunds or replacement orders quickly, your end-users are far less likely to take the time to dispute a payment. Make your customer service contact information prominent by entering your contact information via the 'Community settings' page found in your dashboard menu.
Also be aware that you should not test on the live production environment once you have connected your Stripe account with Big Dash. This is against Stripe's Terms of Service.
